Lush cosmetics the experimenter bath bomb

I bought this after seeing it demonstrated in store. You simply run your bath and drop it into the water. I was amazed at the aray of colours in my tub. It was mesmerising to watch. The colours all exploded into every colour imaginable, and the bath looked lik a beautiful piece of artwork.

I can't even describe the scent, it has vanilla as an ingredient but it smells more spicy that that. I wasn't a big fan of the smell on cold sniff, but having seen the demo I wanted it anyway.

Once the colours fade, you are left with a gorgeous purple/blue bath, and it's absolutely covered in glitter. The smells a lot nicer in the water, and the bath bomb turned the water gorgeously smooth and silky.

Afterward my skin was very soft and glittery. However it did leave my bath covered in glitter to which the cats both like to roll around in. My cats got great use of the glitter too!

It's about the size of the palm of my hand, and is only £3.95. It's a beautiful product and I'd highly recommend to anyone. This would be great fun for children and adults alike! And I'd highly recommend this. If I had to give it a star rating is give it 4.8 stars :).

Body shop coconut shimmer body butter

This was a Christmas present one year and I felt it deserved to be reviewed. It is a body shop body butter with a twist. It is full of glitter to make you shimmer.

It's a lovely soft, buttery texture, and smells like coconuts and a hint of vanilla. It it great at moisturising the skin, whilst adding a little glamour into a usually mundane task. I found the scent stayed on and strong for many hours, and left the skin looking beautifully silky.

Great for a night out,the shimmer is very noticeable, and the scent is strong enough to last the night. This retails on the body shop website for £14. It has lasted me well over a year, and you can get it cheaper on Amazon. It's one of those buys where you spent a small fortune and it lasts a lifetime.

Love this, it's very relaxing and smells divine. I'd have to say it's 4.0 stars and I would recommend to anyone who likes the coconut scent.

Better homes iced carrot cake candle

This candle is from the better homes brand. I've never been a big fan of ginger, or the smell of any type of spice. I always hated carrot cake. So naturally this shouldn't have interested me.

I went into my local nickel and dime, looking for a nice candle for a friends birthday. After smelling the usual scents, and finding nothing amazing, I decided to give this candle a smell.

On cold sniff it smelled like warm cakes baking in the oven, with a twist. The ginger was subtle and blended in nicely. I decided this one was the candle.

The next day the recipient of the candle text me. She told me her 3 year old had asked if it was a Yankee candle, and that it smells amazing. So when I saw another one I had to have it.

I got this for £5.99 and it's large in size. When lit, it fills the room with a lovely auroma of spiced cake. It fills up a room quickly and leaves a very homely smell. I'd go as far as to say this is as good,if not better than many Yankee candles I have tried.

I genuinely cannot fault this product, and happily rate it 5 stars. Would recommend this to any candle lover! It will not disappoint.

Oz Botanics shampoo and conditioner

I stumbled across this set of shampoo and conditioner whilst doing a spur of the moment shopping trip. I am a 21 year old carer who lives alone so I try not to spend a fortune on products.

I love the scent of Aussie products, but wouldn't dream of spending that amount of money.

I found this a lovely alternative. I have very curly brunette hair, that has right ringlets. So I need hair products that help tame the frizz without removing my ringlets.

It smells similar to aussi, but with a bubblegum twist. It leaves the hair smelling lovely after use for a long time. It leaves the hair soft and shiny, and easier to brush.

I got this from home bargains for £1.00 each, and love it. It smells amazing and is cheaper than most brands of shampoo.

Would definitely recommend this, and it's something I use regularly so it has to get a high rating.
4.0 stars,definitely worth buying.

Lidl Melinera Choco Scented Candle

As well as being crazy about lush cosmetic products, I also love a good candle. As much as I enjoy a Yankee candle, it's not a luxury I can afford all year round.

So after a wee trip to my local lidl to browse their Christmas selection, I came across candles. I smelled the three that were there and came across this one.

It's a melinera candle, and there are three scents in my local lidl. This one on cold sniff reminded me of the Nutella chocolate spread. Because of this factor alone I had to have it.

It was 99p. 99p for a Nutella smelling candle. MINE. I loved it so much my partner bought me 2 more (he works there so I get lots of nice stuff.) The wax is a maroon brown in colour, and it covered in golden stars and glitter. It's beautifully done, just ashame the label is very off putting.

I lit this in my bedroom and did not have high hopes.. Again 99p so what can you expect?
Great things! It gave the room a beautiful chocolate smell, and looked lovely. It's in a glass container so it looks a lot more expensive than it was. It's been blown out for a good few hours and I can still smell hints of beautifully melting chocolate.. It's making me drool.

This is the perfect present for a candle lover on a budget. The only fault I have it the cheap looking label on the front.

**4.0 stars**. It's well worth the money, and if you disliked it you haven't blown a lot of money trying it out!

Lush Cosmetics Santa Lip Scrub

One of Lush's Christmas exclusives, Santa lip scrub is very festive indeed.

It is cola flavoured, and bright red in colour. It's made with sugar, so it scrubs your lips to take away dead skin and keep them hydrated. Perfect for people who are prone to dry, cracked lips.

It's absolutely edible-just try avoiding eating the tub! It smells sugary, and you can smell the cola coming through. It leaves my lips feeling very soft and paired with lip balm keeps my lips in great condition. It's a good product, but not something I'd go out and buy (it came in my gift box). It's not the most exciting lush product I've bought, and I'd probably prefer one of their other scents(popcorn,bubblegum..). I can't fault the product, and use it every night, but I think I'd prefer this in a different scent.

You get a lot for £5.50 and this will last me at least 6 months, so again it's great value for money.

3.5 stars-worth a try, and does the job. I just think they have more exciting scents than this.

Lush Cosmetics Oatifix facemask

Again this was not an intentional buy. The store assistant in lush asked me if I had ever used a facemask from the store. I had to admit I was unaware they even did face masks. The store assistant gave me a demo on the product.

Again we discussed my skin. I get awful dry skin above my eyes, and had been in tears because of the pain only a few days previous. So David (the store assistant) advised I went for the Oatifix face mask. Each face mask has different ingredients to tackle different skin types.

Oatifix is a blend of fresh bananas, illipe butter, oatmeal and ground almonds. It smells beautiful, almost a porridge smell-very fresh and pleasant. These masks are made fresh so have to be kept in the fridge and used cold. They last around 2-3 weeks. I can't explain how much I enjoy this product.

I was told it would only last two-three masks. I've barley scraped the surface after 9 masks! That's less that £1.00 per mask and I still have a nearly full tub. The almonds and oatmeal take away the dead skin as there is chunks in the mask that cleanse the skin. It's just a piece of heaven in a tub.

You keep it on your face for 5-10 minutes, then wash off with warm water. It leaves the skin feeling very soft and refreshed. The cold mixture on the skin soothes and leaves a beautiful finish to the skin.

The price is £6.75, which make the eyes sting a bit, but I will get between 18-20 masks out of this so I find it worth every penny. Also something to add- if you return 5 empty lush pots you get a free facemask! So there's a bonus.

4.5 stars, only fault is that it doesn't last too long, as the expiration is between 2-3 weeks but it has done wonders for my sore eyes.

Lush Cosmetics Eau Roma Water

Lush have a small range of toners in their stores. I never intentionally bought this product. I went into the store to buy something nice for my bath after spending a night away from home.

I went into the store and the store assistant spent a good hour showing me all the different products. One thing he used on me was Eau Roma Water. This is a water based toner. The store assistant told me to wash my hands, then spritzed some water into a cotton pad and scrubbed my hand. I was mortified to see the pad going black with dirt that was not noticeable to the naked eye. I thought it would definitely do my skin wonders.

It contains rose water and lavender water which is great for dry skin. It's very gentle and soothes the skin nicely. It has a lavender smell, but it's not too strong that it could be off putting (lavender isn't my most favourite scent but this product smells beautiful). It's a very floral scent, and the bottle claims that the water is auromatherapy in dilution.

To use,simply spray 1-2 times into a cotton pad, and gently wipe your face. It's great at unclogging blackheads and I have really seen a huge difference in my skin. It's soft and glows nicely. It's a very inexpensive product, at just £4.50 for 100g. It's great value for money as you only use 1-2 sprays a day. Can't fault this product so it's definitely;
5.0 stars!
Would never use another toner after trying this one.

Lush Cosmetics Grease Lightening

I feel it appropriate to start this blog off with my new favourite product. I've recently started a new obsession with Lush cosmetic products. If you don't know what lush is, basically it's a cosmetic company who make things such as bath bombs, bubble bars, facemasks, anything you can think of really. They do not make fake tan or things similar as they believe in natural skin. They do however do bronzes. They are mainly vegan, but some products are vegetarian as they contain honey. They are against animal testing and their products smell amazing!

Instead of reviewing the usual bath bombs etc, I've decided to start with a product called 'Grease Lightening'. This is classed as a concealer. It claims to be a very fast spot treatment, showing results rather quickly.
I went into my local store for a general nosey at some products. I got asked what id say is my biggest problem with my skin. Mines is certainly dry skin and spots. I don't get bad acne or anything like that, but I do break out every so often.

The man gave me a tester(lush are good for giving out free testers if you're genuinely interested in a product). So I took my sample and off I went.

A few days later my mum came to visit. She has very bad spots and I gave her my sample. The next day she ordered herself her own one and I tried the sample. I had a spot, that had a head and was not quite ready to burst. I put a dot of serum on the spot, and no word of a lie in the morning it was almost gone! I was blown away, and told my partner about this. He has very bad back acne, and a recurring spot on his chest that it massive and looks agonising. So the next time I was in lush I bought myself a full sized serum. To my surprise my other half bought himself one. Now that's the three of us bought our own-so it must be doing something right!

It's quite thick to touch, like a gel but not overly sticky. It smells like tea tree and witch hazel-a beautiful musky scent. It's priced at £6.50 and will last a long time-well worth the money! I am still using the tester pot which is the size of a 5p! What's also great about this product is that you can use it as often as you want. I have found that if a spot has burst the serum does nothing to reduce the redness, but then again that's not its purpose! I give this a 4.0,as I'm still new to using it, and though it's done wonders for my odd spot, we will have to wait and see what it does for my others halfs moderate spot problem! Would highly recommend and have now interested another friend with this- 4 people now have bought this on my recommendation!
